Editorial Policy
How EasyRepairGuide guides are researched, written, reviewed and kept up to date.
Purpose and scope
Our guides help everyday users understand and fix common computer, laptop, printer, Windows, Wi-Fi and device-connection problems. We publish a smaller number of thorough guides rather than many thin pages, and each guide covers one problem from the quickest checks to the point where professional help is the better option.
Who writes the guides
Guides are published under the byline “EasyRepairGuide Editorial Team”. We don’t list individual author profiles or claim professional certifications.
Use of AI tools
We use AI writing tools to help outline and draft guides. AI output is never published unreviewed. Every guide is checked for technical accuracy, safety and clarity, and anything that can’t be supported is removed or phrased generally with a pointer to official documentation.
Technical and safety standards
- No invented specifics: we don’t make up button sequences, menu paths, error-code meanings or compatibility claims. Where steps differ by model, we say so and link to the manufacturer.
- Security first: we never advise switching off antivirus, firewall or other protections as a routine step, and we never send readers to unofficial driver sites, “cleaner” or “driver updater” tools or unknown downloads.
- Official sources: drivers and software only from the device maker, Windows Update or Apple.
- No credentials: we never ask readers to share passwords, Wi-Fi passwords, product keys or recovery codes.
- Honest limits: no guaranteed fixes; every guide explains when to stop and get qualified help.
Sources
We rely on official documentation from Microsoft, Apple and device manufacturers, and list the relevant pages under “Official sources” at the end of each guide.
Independence
No company pays to appear in or shape our guides. The site does not currently carry advertising or affiliate links. If that changes, commercial content will be clearly labeled and kept separate from editorial decisions.
Updates and corrections
Each guide shows when it was published and, when changed, when it was last updated. If something no longer matches what you see, email support@easyrepairguide.com with the page address and your device or software version, and we will check and correct it.
